What is WXRchive?

WXRchive is a platform created specifically for the archiving and dissemination of Emergency Alert System alerts from various sources. The system was originally created and built by SecludedFox and later accompanied by SecludedHusky.

Brief History of WXRchive

In late November 2021, WXRchive started as a simple form that allowed members of the EAS community to share their audio captures. This phase saw some success with the archival of a few alerts but never really took off. A year later, the WAKF website, where it was hosted, became defunct, and the WXRchive project seemed to have ended with it. However, this changed in mid-September 2023, with access to more and more CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) sources. The Comcast Cable system was the first source added to WXRchive's capture system, which has since archived over 9,000 alerts. As of early July 2024, the website was redesigned with a new backend to allow multiple sources to be archived.
